P8000 : Accurate, Reliable, Simple

The P8000 is a family of compact, rugged 24-bit data acquisition systems which support a range of transducer inputs. The tough casing and low power requirements makes it ideal for both mobile and laboratory use. The range starts with the P8004 four channel ultra-portable unit and larger P8000's can be stacked to expand the system up to 256 channels. Input/output options include analogue inputs (DC, AC, IEPE & charge), precision tacho inputs, analog output, thermocouples, GPS and CAN-Bus

The P8012, P8012 and P8048 can be configured with a number of cards to give full flexibility in input and output channels. See below for a list of available cards and a configuration guide table.

8402: 4-channel High Speed Analog with Tacho

The flexible general purpose acquisition card, with built-in signal conditioning for almost any type of transducer. With the flexibility for high samples rates and synchronous sampling with an additional tachometer input. When working in the frequency domain or the order domain this module is the natural choice.

  • 4 analog channels and 1 tacho input
  • DC, AC and IEPE (ICP®) inputs
  • 100k samples/second/channel (24 bit)
  • 400k samples/second/channel (16 bit)
  • Input range : ±10mV to ±10V
  • 102dB dynamic range
  • -120dB noise floor
  • 16x over sampling tacho (up to 800k samples/second/channel)
  • Programmable threshold on tacho input
  • TEDS with connection detection
  • Offset removal

8404: 4-channel High Speed w/ Prog. Excitation

The ultra flexible general purpose acquisition module. The only card you’ll ever need. This card has complete flexibility; all of Prosig’s 30 year experience focused into one card. With the flexibility for high samples rates and synchronous sampling with an additional tachometer. Each channel provides program selectable supply voltage and program selectable bridge configuration of ¼, ½ and full bridge. Bridge configuration allows selection of 120, 350 or 1000Ω. When working in the frequency domain or the order domain this module is the natural choice.

  • as 4-channel High Speed Analog with Tacho
  • Programmable excitation
  • Programmable ¼, ½, full bridge input
  • Input nulling
  • Excitation sensing

8409: 8-channel Analog Input

For situations where high sampling rates are not required, but still keeping the high quality and high resolution the low speed analog card doubles the number of input channels. This card is intended for use in situations where high bandwidth is not a requirement, yet still maintaining full synchronous capture.

  • 8 analog channels
  • 20k samples/second/channel (24 bits)
  • DC & AC inputs
  • Input range : ±10mV to ±10V
  • 100dB dynamic range
  • -120dB noise floor
  • D50 panel connection
Connection options
  • D50 to 8 channel BNC
  • D50 to bare ends

8410: 8-channel Analog Direct Input / IEPE

This card has the flexibility of the 8409, but includes additional support for IEPE (ICP®) transducers.

  • as 8-channel Analog Input
  • DC, AC and IEPE (ICP®) inputs

8411: 8-channel Analog w/ Programmable Excitation

This card supports bridge completion so can support strain gauge type inputs. Each channel provides program selectable supply voltage and program selectable bridge configuration of ¼, ½ and full bridge. Bridge configuration allows selection of 120, 350 or 1000Ω.

  • as 8-channel Analog Input
  • Programmable excitation
  • Programmable ¼, ½, full bridge input
  • Input nulling
  • Excitation sensing

8408: 8-channel Thermocouple

The universal thermocouple acquisition card suitable for use with industry standard connector types, but also supporting universal input connectors. With a lower sampling rate these cards are intended to capture dynamic temperatures.

  • 8 channels of single ended thermocouple inputs
  • Supports all popular thermocouple types by universal input connector
  • Sample rate to 500 samples/sec/channel
  • Smallest step change 0.075 degrees (assuming 1 degree = 40uV)
  • Integral cold junction reference
  • Typical accuracy : 0.5degC

8420: 4-channel Precision Tachometer Measurement

This card is intended as a solution for situations with rotating machines where positional information and time relative to position information are required. This would classically be a very high speed shaft encoder with a fine resolution. Used in applications such as vehicle power train investigations.

  • Programmable signal conditioning to de-bounce inputs
  • Pulse counting
  • ’Noise Offset’ & ‘Hold Off’ setting
  • Programmable threshold & slope
  • Pulse time stamping

8424: 4-channel Analog Output

For situations where closed loop analog replay of signals is required, traditionally used with a 4 post shaker rig. Captured signals can be replayed as analog voltages or generated signals can be replayed as analog voltages at optimal sample rates.

  • Four 24 bit analog outputs
  • Maximum output 288k samples/second/channel
  • Digital interpolating filter
  • Optional integral digital I/O

8405: 4-channel High Speed Analog with Charge Input

The 8405 provides 4 independent inputs for high temperature charge mode accelerometers.

  • 4-channel 24-bit input
  • Single ended input BNC connectors
  • Input range ±68pC FSD to ±68000pC FSD over 13 ranges
  • High pass filter 40dB/decade -3dB at 0 - 5Hz

8440: Dual Input CAN-bus Card

The ultimate in CAN-Bus cards, sporting two CAN inputs and GPS data capture. This card is intended for situations where a CAN-Bus must be read and data stored alongside other measurement channels.

  • Passive and active modes
  • Time stamping: time or sample number
  • Optional GPS module to provide accurate time, position, etc.
