DATS : Capture, Analyze, Report

DATS is one of the leading software packages for the capture, analysis and reporting of technical and scientific data of all types. It includes time and frequency domain analyses as well as special solution packs to address specific applications such as NVH testing, rotating machinery analysis, acoustic measurement, human response to vibration and so on.

  • Measure Structural Response
  • Double Impact Detection
  • Accept/Reject by User
  • Automatic Averaging
  • Integrated with DATS Structural Animation Software

Structural response measurements are an essential requirement for engineers working on noise and vibration problems. The Hammer Impact Analysis guides the user through the process of making the measurements. Single-input, multi-output measurements are supported with a Prosig P5000 or P8000 system. Initial transducer gain, sensitivity and triggering setup is provided by the familiar DATS signal setup.

The software gives the user full control over all aspects of the test including...

  • the frequency range, and resolution
  • force & exponential window settings
  • double impact criteria
  • number of averages per measurement point
  • auto reject double impacts and overloads
  • use of Prosig driver's remote panel

A Check Signals mode enables the user to confirm the acquisition settings, and to refine the acquisition process.

An initial display of Time Histories and the modulus FFT enables signal checks before the Transfer Functions are inspected. Data can be displayed as Inertance, Apparent Mass, Mobility, Impedance, Receptance or Obstructance.

The current measurement is compared with the accumulating average and a comparison, or target transfer function can be superimposed. These signals are color coded for ease of use. The acquisition process has an audio code for each stage of the measurement so that the PC screen does not have to be in view at all times.

The measurements can be saved in numerically sequenced datasets and the user has full control over whether just the H1 is required for each response, or whether all the derivatives (H2, Coherence, ASD, CSD), and even the time histories can be saved. The data is stored in the form it is displayed, Inertance, or Mobility etc.

This package can also be used in other applications where a triggered acquire, immediate data inspection and frequency response measurements are required.
