DATS : Capture, Analyze, Report

DATS is one of the leading software packages for the capture, analysis and reporting of technical and scientific data of all types. It includes time and frequency domain analyses as well as special solution packs to address specific applications such as NVH testing, rotating machinery analysis, acoustic measurement, human response to vibration and so on.

  • SAEJ211 Filters
  • FIR100 Filters
  • HIC, TTI, VC...

The Crash Biomechanics software is used to analyze vehicle crash data with special emphasis on data from the dummies. DATS provides the main environment for data acquisition, analysis and report presentation. The Crash Biomechanics suite adds those modules which are particular to analyzing car crash data. These include the Head Injury Criteria, FIR100 filtering, Various CFC filtering and so on. All the modules comply to the relevant SAE J211 and NHTSA requirements.

  • Form the resultant of three orthogonal inputs (x, y and z). It is normally used to prepare data for input to HIC and other such analyses.
  • Perform digital filtering in the time domain compliant with the SAEJ211 CFC1000 filter characteristics.
  • Perform phaseless digital filtering in the time domain compliant with the SAEJ211 CFC60 filter characteristics.
  • Perform phaseless digital filtering in the time domain compliant with the SAEJ211 CFC180 filter characteristics.
  • Perform digital filtering in the time domain compliant with the SAEJ211 CFC600 filter characteristics.
  • Process chest (thorax) data to determine the 3 millisecond exceedance level. The module also computes the Chest Severity Index.
  • Use a low pass Finite Impulse Response filter set at 100Hz. This conforms to the US Code of Regulations for processing crash data from dummies.

  • Calculate the maximum head injury criterion value and the corresponding time interval.
  • Calculates the Thoracic Trauma Index (TTI) used as a criterion for side impact tests.
  • Calculates the Viscous Criterion (VC) mainly used in side impact tests
